Yema Spread

This creamy and silky Yema spread is super easy to make and requires only 5 simple ingredients. Perfect spread for pandesal or toast. You can even use it as frosting for cakes or cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 can condensed milk 300ml
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon butter unsalted
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Combine egg yolks and condensed milk in a pan or wok.
  • Turn on heat to medium. Stir the mixture with spatula or wooden spoon to prevent from sticking to the pan.
  • Cook until it thickens, but not too thick. It will go thicken more as it cools down.
  • Add the butter and salt and mix until it becomes smooth and shiny.
  • Turn heat off and add the vanilla extract and mix.
  • Let it cool down a bit then transfer to glass jars.
