- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 6 cloves garlic - minced
- ¼ cup crab fat paste (aligue)
- ¼ cup tomato ketchup or banana ketchup
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes - or as desired
- 2 pounds shrimp - washed and drained
- ½ cup Sprite / 7-Up
- green onions for garnishing
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Saute the garlic until tender and slightly browned.
Add the crab fat paste and ketchup and stir until well blended. Season with fish sauce and chili flakes.
Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes stirring until all sides turn pink. Pour in the Sprite/7-Up and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes or until shrimp are completely cooked.
Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions and serve with your favorite pasta or rice.
