Wake up to a brighter morning with these delicious Peach-Mango Pocket Pies. This is the easy version using ready-made puff pastry sheets.
Peach-Mango Pocket Pies or simply peach mango pie is a popular dessert from a fast-food restaurant in the Philippines, called Jollibee. This is our local version of Mc Donald's. It is truly a delicious treat and one I usually indulged in whenever we go there to eat or even for a take-out. The combination of peach and mango could not be more perfect and the light, crispy fried crust that encloses is enough to make you want to have a bite as soon as it's heavenly aroma hits you in the face. Believe, I've burned my mouth (and esophagus) countless of times from these.
I know this recipe is a bit of a cheat but who has time to make puff or flaky pastry anyways. But if I were to make the dough from scratch, then I would definitely do it using this equally easy flaky pie crust recipe. Or I would also use the same dough I use to make my chicken empanada.
This Peach-Mango Pie recipe is actually requested by one of our readers. Unfortunately, I am not able to find the message. I've searched my emails, blog comments, and Facebook page and other social media and I can't find it so I hope this reaches you and feel free to comment because it is really driving me crazy when I look for things and can't find them (*sigh*) Sign of aging, you think? Nah, I am really just forgetful and a mess (of excitement and stress) at the moment from all the things running in my head about our imminent migration back to my homeland! See you soon, Philippines!

Peach Mango Pocket Pies
Ingredients
- 1 cup canned peaches - cut into cubes
- 1 cup ripe mango - cut into cubes
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ¼ cup sugar
- dash of salt
- 5 tablespoons peach syrup
- 1 puff pastry sheet
- oil - for deep frying
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and sugar together.
- In a saucepan or small pot, combine the peaches, mangoes, sugar-cornstarch mix, salt, and the syrup from canned peaches. Mix well. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and continue cooking for 3-5 minutes or until it becomes really thick like jam.
- Remove from heat and let it cool down to room temperature.
- Lay the puff pastry on a flat surface. Scoop three separate spoonfuls of the filling and lay it on top the puff pastry sheets as shown in the photos. Fold the pastry sheet over the fillings and push the edges down to close in the fillings. Cut into three pocket pies and seal the edges.
- Transfer the pocket pies on a baking sheet or a plate and place in the freezer for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Heat enough oil for deep frying over medium heat. Fry the pocket pies in hot oil while still frozen, 3-4 pieces at a time until golden and crisp, about 3-5 minutes. Transfer cooked pocket pies on a plate lined with paper towels to rid of excess oil.
Notes
-
Place pocket pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer. Brush each with the egg wash to make them shiny and brown after baking. Poke (3-5) small holes on each using a toothpick or fork to let the steam out and prevent them from bursting open while baking.
-
Bake at 360°F/180°C for 18-20 minutes or until they appear light brown and shiny.

Hello. How did u fry it perfectly brown but not burned?mine was so dark. Was it in the type of oil? I used Canola oil and temperature was medium high. Also it puffed and not flat like your picture.
Bebs says
Canola oil should be ok for frying but from my experience it also depends on the brand of oil. I normally use vegetable oil. As for the puffing thing when fried, I also think it has to do with the brand of puff pastry used, as a workaround try to flatten your pastry sheet a bit more using a rolling pin so it is thinner and will not puff as much.
Kim says
Hello,
I'm about to try this recipe. I was wondering after you fry the pies, how long do they keep their crispness? I'm planning on bringing them to a family party. Or would they be okay warmed back up in the microwave?
Bebs says
I am afraid, they only stay crispy when freshly cooked as they are normally eaten that way. But if you want to reheat them, I suggest doing it in an oven, not microwave.
Lily Yee says
I needed 1 box of puff pastry sheets (2 sheets) for this. Since I only used 1 sheet, my pies were smaller than expected! Then I used the 2nd sheet from the box and used the remaining filling. I ended up with 18 little pies that were so good. Next time, I will use both sheets from the box and make 12 larger hand held pies.
Salam Alaikum says
Very helpful recipe design, but is ur name Bebs?
Shey says
I have been doing this for few years now since I saw your recipe . Not sure if I already thanked you before; if not, many thanks! This is very easy to make and taste good..I am making one again since it is peach season again here in US and we have few ripes peach hanging over to our fence from my neighbor's tree lol!!
Nicetas says
i tried using dried mangoes, from the Philippines siyempre. It was cut into small pieces and soaked with mango juice overnight. I also cut down on sugar because dried mangoes have sugar already.
It worked out well and tasted delicious.
Thanks for sharing your recipe
Lizbeth Cortes says
hi po didnt see the recipe for the dough of pocket pie mango peach pie😁
Bebs says
Because I used a store-bought puff pastry.
Gigi says
Can i use dried mangos? If yes, should i soak the dried mangoes in water or how please. Thank you!
Tried your ensaymada and they are the best. Thank you for sharing.
Bebs says
I am not sure it will work well with dry mango but it is worth a try. Cut them into small cubes and just add a little water to hydrate. Glad you like our ensaymada recipe!
Tanashie Jacquecin says
Can I use frozen pie crust instead? I can't find the pastry crust at my grocery store.
Bebs says
Sure you can.
Catherine says
Hi, I’m planning on making this to surprise my family and I was wondering what kind of mango works best with this recipe. Thanks!
Bebs says
If you can get Manila mangoes, that would be perfect.
pearl says
hi! i have been thinking of making these. i bought some Blätterteig and frozen mangoes from Netto. by the way, would it be okay if I use Rapsöl for frying? i am a bit hesitant
Bebs says
Sunflower oil is better for frying.
Jing says
I baked the pockets instead of fried and it was good.
Thanks for sharing your recipe
Bebs says
You're welcome and t hanks for the 5 stars, Jing!
Jan says
I made 4 bigger ones using the puff pastry, and they were fantastic. Definitely made the cut as a recipe I will repeat!! Sounds complicated but is actually pretty easy. Helps if you thaw puff pastry the day before, but you can also thaw in microwave using 15 sec intervals until soft, not more than 30 sec total. So yumm!!!
Bebs says
Hey, Jan! Thanks for your lovely comment and for the tip on using frozen puff pastry!
Trixie Jane T Natoli says
Hi,
My husband accidentally bought a pie dough instead of puff pastry. Can I use it?
Bebs says
I think it should also work.
Louise says
I tried making these and they came out good. I would still say that Philippines has the best mangoes. So with that being said, the mangoes I got here (in the US) is not as sweet as it should be, so i think, I could have added a tablespoon more or two of sugar. Plus I had some extra filling, like a cup more. I used Pepperidge Farm puff pastry that comes with 2 sheets and each are folded in 3. I was able to make 12 pcs using both sheets. Since my puff is small in size, I didnt fold the edges. I pressed them with the side of the fork then I pressed them again with it to seal. I airfryed them at 390F for 10mins (I use Philips Airfryer) and came out like fried with less oil! (I sprayed it both sides of the pie with PAM canola before putting them into the basket.) It satisfied my cravings and better than deep fried!
Bebs says
Thank you so much for your input, Louise. I am not thinking of getting me an airfryer.
Zay says
I was just wondering if I could make these in an air fryer! Did you do the egg wash and then spray with canola?
Kristel Adame says
tried this yesterday because my son was asking for peach mango pie, it was good but palpak yung crust ko.. 😫 i didn’t fold it on the edge. 😅 Thank you for the recipe my family loved it!
Bebs says
Hi Kristel, glad it still worked out great...
ben says
where did you buy the pastry sheets
Bebs says
I made these in Germany but I made them again in the Philippines and found puff pastry in a baking supply shop.
Lulu Del Rio says
Hi, I tried the Peach-Mango Pocket Pies recipe and it’s delicious! 😋😋😋. Thank you very much!
Bebs says
You are welcome, Lulu.
Tin says
Can I use simple syrup? Have you tried?
Bebs says
Hi Tin, I just use the syrup from the peach can.
ihyi says
Tried this baked. My family loved it so much that they just let cool down a bit and then 10 pieces were gone in 10 minutes. Thank you so much.
Armin says
You`re very welcome, happy you and your family like it 👍
Teresa says
Enjoyed making the peach mango pocket recipe. Delish! Will use peach and pear for the next time I make it.
Thank you for sharing these wonderful recipes.
Bebs says
You are welcome, Teresa.
Fiona says
Does it need to be frozen also if I decide to bake it?
Bebs says
Not need, Fiona. It is frozen so it can hold its shape if to be fried.
Laurs says
Hi I tried this but when I fried the pie the puff pastry became so puffy. Any tips? It came from the freezer after 6 hours also. Thanks!
Bebs says
Hi Laurs, if you will be using the same brand then try to flatten it with a rolling pin before using it. make sure that you fold and pinch the ends together to seal so it will not puff too much.
Laurs says
Hi, thanks for the tip. I baked it and it turned out well. By the way, does the mangoes have to be super ripe? Thank you!
Bebs says
Not at all, Laurs. Ripe mango is sweet but super ripe mangoes does not have any tanginess left so I prefer just ripe mangoes.
Sabina Delmundo says
Hi! Thanks for the recipe. Can I use the Pillsbury crescent rolls instead of puff pastry?
Bebs says
Hi Sabina, yes you can, it will not be flaky but should still work.
Hesty says
I made this tonight and it was amazing! I added a pinch of cinnamon. And used a frozen pizza crust and baked it for 23 min at 360F. I tried to fry it at 375F and my crust browned really fast and soaked a lot of oil. I would be making this again but would just bake them instead. Thank you for this recipe!
Bebs says
Pizza crust sounds a fantastic idea.Glad you like it Hesty.
Hesty says
It may have been a frozen pie crust. I don’t remember but it was in foil container ready to be filled with some pie filling. So yes, it must be a frozen pie crust since that’s the only one i found at the store that time. Anyway, I will make more again this weekend and see if i can get some puff pastry sheet or maybe i will try your flaky pie crust recipe. I’m planning to freeze a bunch since i have a ton of ripe mangoes about to go bad. I will let you know how it turned out. 💕
Bebs says
Sure, do let me know how it goes.
Hesty says
So i followed your pie crust recipe and used it to make peach mango pocket pie but it didn’t hold the filling as it did when i use a frozen pie crust. Yes. It is flaky. Yes, it is how pie crusts should be, but not for the pocket pies. 🙁 I’m so disappointed, i would just use frozen pie crust next time or maybe puff pastry.
Bebs says
Hi Hesty, did you freeze the pocket pies before cooking them? The thing is I use almost the same dough for making empanadas and it holds well., bu that has added baking powder to it. Here is the recipe
Melissa says
Hi! Can I use our crust instead? Thank you!!!!
Bebs says
Sure you can use a crust you prefer Melissa. We also have a flaky pie crust that will go well with this.
Melissa says
Ooops I meant to type pie crust not our crust. Anyway, I'm making this right now 🙂 one clarification though, store it in freezer or fridge before cooking? Ty so much!
Bebs says
Yes, after forming them they might be soft and easy to break. This makes it keep their shape and easier to handle.
Nina says
Sorry again, can you please clarify if they should be stored in the fridge or freezer before cooking?
Your recipe says put it in the fridge for 6 hrs or overnight but the step after that you mentioned to fry them still frozen.
Thank you!
Bebs says
Hi Nina, I meant the freezer. Yes, you need to freeze them so they will not turn soggy and fry directly still frozen.
Fatima says
Thanks for sharing your recipe. If given a time I'll love to bake too. More blessings..
Xy says
Hi. Saan ako mkakabili ng puff pastry? US bound thank you 😊
Bebs says
In US, I think most of the supermarkets have them in the frozen section usually. Try Walmart.
Monica says
I would like to bake these. Is the freezing part in reference to frying still applicable to baking?
Bebs says
Sure you can bake them directly.
Penny says
Hello Bebs, can I use an air fryer instead of the deep fryer and still have the same crunchiness?
Thanks
Bebs says
Hi Penny, I haven't tried using air fryer so I am not sure...
Catherine says
Hi bebs! Will it taste the same if i bake it in the oven instead of deep frying? How long is the baking time and what temperature? Thank you
Bebs says
Hi Catherine, somehow the taste between fried and baked pies will never be the same, like with donuts. But if you prefer to bake it I added the instruction in the Recipe Notes above.
Elsa says
Tried some of your recipes and my friends love it as well as my family and of course me.
Will surely try this mango peach pie as buying from Jollibee is driving 6 hours round trip.
Thank you for sharing.
Will rate this when tried❤️
Bebs says
I am happy to hear you are enjoying our recipes, Elsa. And I am sure you will love these peach-mango pies as well.
Ktine says
Hi. Ask ko lang pde ba i-oven ko to instead deep-fry? If yes ano setting ng oven and gano kainit. Thanks
Bebs says
Yes, you can bake them at 180C for 20-30 minutes or until golden.
Sheena Jose says
What can Be used in the absence of a peach syrup? Thank you! I really love to make this i love peach mango pies!
Bebs says
Hi Sheena, just replace it with water (3-4 tbsp).
Elaine says
Hi Bebs,
I tried this recipe today and it's as good as Jollibee's. Our craving for peach-mango pie was satisfied and even my picky 5-year old asked me to save some for him for the next day. Thanks so much for this yummy recipe. I've tried so many of your recipes already and they are really delicious and for keeps. I'm an avid fan of your blog, thanks!
Bebs says
Hi Elaine, thank you for your very nice comment and since I know the feeling, I will try to add more yummy recipes that might help satisfy with the Filipino food cravings. ?
Noel says
Looks good! I’ll be trying out this recipe myself this week. Already have all the ingredients. Will let you know how it goes 🙂
Grace says
Hi! Can I use fresh peaches instead? Will the recipe change somehow ? Thanks.
Bebs says
Hi Grace, Of course, you may use fresh peaches and I do not see any problem with that...maybe a bit of added tanginess from the fresh peaches since canned peaches are soaked in sweet syrup and lost that tanginess but it should be perfect.
Cherry says
Hi Bebs,
I have been following your page and have made a lot of good food using you recipes. Just ine question on this pocket pies. If i bake these, is it necessary to have them frozen or i can just bake them right after making the pocket pies.
Bebs says
Hi Cherry, Yes you can bake them after making them but they are best fried and I find that freezing them before frying helps to keep the shape.
stella says
i've tried before other peach mango recipes til i found your page, i will try your recipe soon! 🙂 i can also suggest to add some cinnamon for flavour and aroma. :))
Mia says
Hi. Thanks for posting great recipes! This one is in my fave list.
Can i bake it instead of fry? Any tips? Thanks! 🙂
Bebs says
Hi Mia, I am pretty sure you can bake them too. Bake at 200°C for 10-20 minutes or until the pastry starts to puff then lower to 180°C and bake until golden and cooked through.
Jade says
Hi, just ordered the ingredients and I am very excited to make some! I just have one question. If I make a batch and store it in the freezer and, just gradually consume it (like fry 1 or 2 pcs at a time), how many days or weeks can I keep it frozen before it spoils? Thank you.
Bebs says
I would say it should last a couple of weeks if it is stored properly in the freezer. I suggest you divide them in smaller quantities so you just take out from the freezer what you need.
Bonnie Edmonds says
Can't wait to try this! It's added to my "must make" list of your recipes.
